UN International Micro- Small- and Medium Sized Enterprise (MSME) Day

n 2017, the United Nations declared June 27th to be Micro-, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day. It raises awareness of MSME's contribution to sustainable development and the global economy, promoting innovation and creativity, and creating employment internationally. In emerging markets, 7 out of 10 formal jobs are generated by SMEs, making their development a high priority for governments worldwide. Moreover, they are an essential component in implementing SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) and SDG 9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure).
