BVI Chamber of Commerce
The BVI Chamber of Commerce Rebrands and Recommits to Serving the Business Community’s Needs
The BVI Chamber of Commerce (BVICoC) is thrilled to announce that it has rebranded in the wake of the separation of the Chamber of Commerce and the newly minted BVI Hotel and Tourism Association. This was a strategic move undertaken to allow the Chamber a renewed focus on its decades-long commitment to advancing entrepreneurship, excellence in industry, and a commercially conducive environment in the Territory of the British Virgin Islands.
Formerly known as the BVI Chamber of Commerce and Hotel Association, the BVICoC hosted a brand relaunch which was headlined by speakers such as the Premier and Minister for Finance, Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley, Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade, the Honourable Lorna Smith, and Ms. Petipha Lewis, Chair of the Caribbean Chambers of Commerce and Vice-Chair of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Shaina Smith-Archer, the current Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the guests, beginning with a hearty acknowledgement of the members, “It would be remis not to acknowledge the current 275+ members who run the gamut from the self-employed/micro-sized business to the industry representative organizations that have journeyed with us through the years or recently joined. We are committed to being here to support businesses for another half a century and beyond.”
Ms. Lewis who brought greetings from the Chamber’s regional contemporaries concluded the ceremony while raising poignant remarks about the value of the organization’s delineation and rebranding,
“The journey to separate and to rebrand, is a strategic move towards unlocking the full potential of both sectors … a brand is not just a logo or a tagline; it's the embodiment of an organization's values, mission and promise to its stakeholders. The Chamber of Commerce's brand reflects its commitment to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth. A refreshed brand identity can energize engagement, attract new members, and symbolize the beginning of a new era.”
The new branding showcases a modern, dynamic logo that encapsulates the organization's progressive approach to economic development and business empowerment while acknowledging the rich history of the Territory’s commerce. This was further underscore by the contributions of long term member and Past Vice President Hospitality, Astrid Wenzke who took the audience through the storied history of the Chamber.
In its renewed role, the BVI Chamber of Commerce will continue to offer a wide range of services to its members, including networking events, educational programs, and advocacy initiatives aimed at influencing policies that drive economic growth. By focusing on a diverse business ecosystem, the Chamber is poised to inspire innovation, foster resilience, and encourage sustainable development in the British Virgin Islands.
